Certificates must name “Chicago Park District” as Additional Insured. Most park events require 30+ days advance permit application. Our certificates include the exact wording the Park District requires.

Illinois Dram Shop Act
Illinois has one of the strictest liquor liability laws in the United States (235 ILCS 5/6-21). The Dram Shop Act creates liability for anyone who sells or gives alcohol to an intoxicated person who later causes injury or damage. If you’re serving alcohol without selling it (open bar, BYOB), Host Liquor Liability is included in all policies at no extra cost. If selling alcohol (cash bar, ticket sales), you need Liquor Liability coverage—available as an add-on. Many Illinois venues specifically require proof of liquor liability coverage.

McCormick Place & Convention Requirements
McCormick Place requires exhibitors and event hosts to carry specific insurance limits with certificates naming “Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA)” as Additional Insured. Navy Pier has similar City of Chicago requirements.

Winter Event Considerations
Chicago and Illinois winters can impact outdoor events. Many venues require indoor backup plans for events between November and April. Some outdoor venues are unavailable during winter months. Contact us about event cancellation coverage for weather-related concerns.
